Mary E (Geddes) Fratianne

MARY ELEANOR FRATIANNE (nee Geddes). Beloved wife of Richard Fratianne, M.D.; dear mother of Elizabeth (Cliff LaJouness), Scott (Kay nee Ptacek), Gregory, Susan (Mark Campbell), and Lisa (Adam Sevel); loving grandmother of 18, great grandmother of 12 and great-great grandmother of 1.  Mary’s life centered around faith, family and voluntary service to others.  Mary was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and an instructor of religious education at St. Paschal Baylon Church in Highland Heights, Ohio. Mary also volunteered her time to the Cleveland Cursillo movement; serving on the staff of many Cursillo retreats.  For her 35 years of service at the Cleveland Clinic’s ADD Unit, P-47, Mary received the Ambassador Humanitarian Award.  In addition, Mary was also a Founding Member of the Women-to-Women Recovery Group.  As a breast cancer survivor herself, Mary was a dedicated counselor for many breast cancer patients and survivors.  Mary was twice voted President of the Acacia Country Club’s Women’s Club where she led them in the creating of Christmas and Easter baskets for children being treated in the Burn Unit at MetroHealth.  In addition, Mary volunteered her time as a substitute teacher at Anderson Elementary School in Lyndhurst, Ohio, as well as a volunteer leader at many Lyndhurst Home Days celebrations.  Mary was also an active member of the Acacia Country Club’s Concert Choir.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Burn Unit Survivors of MetroHealth Main Campus Medical Center, 2500 MetroHealth Dr., Cleveland, Ohio 44109, or City Music, 12200 Fairhill Rd., Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44120.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Thursday, October 27th at St. Paschal Baylon Church (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH).  Interment Knollwood Cemetery, 1678 SOM Center Rd., Mayfield Heights, OH 44124.  The family will receive friends at Vicchiarelli Funeral Home, 5252 Mayfield Rd. Lyndhurst, OH., Wednesday, October,26th, 4-7 PM.
