Richard B Wadd

RICHARD B. WADD, age 80, left this earth peacefully on March 19, 2020 at the Ames House, Hospice of Western Reserve surrounded by his family. Dearest father of Melanie Sweeney (Shawn) and Brian DiBartolomeo (Matthew) (of Chicago, Il); life partner of Eileen Shane and former husband of Linda Bart; proud grandfather of Maggie, Molly and David Sweeney; loving brother of twin Robert (deceased) (Marsha) and Sherri Palmer (of Cols., Oh); uncle of Dean Wadd (Jessica) and Colonel Matthew Wadd (Ioana); great-uncle of Trevor and Max; dear son of Morris and Josephine (Rini) (both deceased). Richard served in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. Former football and wrestling coach at Collinwood High School and drivers education teacher. Richard held varied Sales positions, including the Plain Dealer. He was also a proud member of Molinsani Club, the F.O.P.A. and other veteran and Italian civic organizations. Richard was an avid bocce ball player and has received many awards. A graduate of Charles F. Brush High School and Ohio University, where he was an athlete in football, baseball and judo. Private graveside service at Acacia Park Cemetery on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.  A celebration of life will be held at a date later in the year.
